1. TECHNOLOGY INCUBATION FORUM (TIF)
IN NEWS:
MOU BETWEEN INDIAN NAVY AND M/s BEL FOR TECHNOLOGY INCUBATION FORUM (TIF).
KEY POINTS:
- The Technology Incubation Forum reflects the joint vision of Indian Navy and Bharat Electronics Limited towards innovative and creativethinking and fostering development of Emerging Technologies.
- The broadcharter of the TIF includes technology development in the domain of Weapons & Sensors, Information Technology and Emerging Technologiessuch as Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Quantum Computing,Autonomous Platforms/ Robotics, Image Processing and Cognitive Radio.
- The TIF will spearhead mission mode development of deployable productsunder the Government’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative with involvement of Industry, Academia and Start-Ups.

2. Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME)
IN NEWS:
Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme under Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan Completes One Year.
KEY POINTS:
- Launched on 29th June 2020, the PMFME Scheme is currently being implemented in 35 States and Union Territories.
- The online portal for the application of the PMFME Scheme was made live on 25th January 2021.
About the PMFME Scheme
- Launched under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme that aims to enhance the competitiveness of existing individual micro-enterprises in the unorganized segment of the food processing industry and to promote formalization of the sector and provide support to Farmer Producer Organizations, Self Help Groups, and Producers Cooperatives along their entire value chain.
- With an outlay of Rs. 10,000 crore over a period of five years from 2020-21 to 2024-25, the scheme envisions to directly assist the 2,00,000 micro food processing units for providing financial, technical, and business support for upgradation of existing micro food processing enterprises.

3. NATRAX
IN NEWS:
Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Shri Prakash Javadekar today inaugurated NATRAX- the High Speed Track(HST) in Indore which is the longest such track in Asia.
KEY POINTS:
- NATRAX, developed in an area of 1000 acres of land , is a one stop solution for all sorts of high speed performance tests for widest categories of vehicles from 2 wheelers to heavy tractor trailers.
- The NATRAX centre has multiple test capabilities like measurements of maximum speed, acceleration, constant speed fuel consumption, emission tests through real road driving simulation, high speed handling and stability evaluation during manoeuvred such as lane change, high speed durability testing, etc. and is a Centre of excellence for Vehicle Dynamics.
- HST is used for measuring the maximum speed capability of high-end cars like BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Tesla and so forth which cannot be measured on any of the Indian test tracks.
- Being centrally located in Madhya Pradesh, it is accessible to most of the major OEMs.
- Foreign OEMs will be looking at NATRAX HST for the development of prototype cars for Indian conditions .
- At present, foreign OEMs go to their respective high speed track abroad for high speed test requirements.
- It is one stop solution for all sorts of high speed performance tests, being one of the largest in the world.
- It can cater to widest category of vehicles; say from two wheelers to the heaviest tractor trailers.Vehicle can achieve max speed of 375 Kmph on curves with steering control and it has less banking on ovals making it also one of the safest test track globally.

4. Cybersecurity Index
IN NEWS:
India has been ranked at 10th position in the cybersecurity index.
KEY POINTS:
- India was ranked ahead of China (No. 33) and Pakistan (No. 79) in global cybersecurity ranking of countries.
- India has improved its ranking from 47 to 10 in United Nation’s ITU Global Cybersecurity Agenda (GCA).
- United States has been ranked first and is followed by United Kingdom.
- Improved ranking acknowledges multiple initiatives that India have taken along with CERT (Cyber Emergency Response Team).
- This ranking was announced at a time when government has been dealing with instances of cross-border cyber-attacks. In February 2021, several instances were observed where government domain email addresses were used to launch cyber-attacks.

Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI)
- GCI is a project of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to rank cybersecurity capabilities of nations across the globe.
- It is a trusted reference measuring commitment of nations to cybersecurity at a world level.
- It is published to raise awareness of importance and different dimensions of cybersecurity issues.
- Country’s level of development or engagement in the field of cybersecurity is assessed in five pillars
- Legal Measures
- Technical Measures
- Organizational Measures
- Capacity Development and
- Cooperation
- And then data are aggregated into an overall score. GCI leverages capacity and expertise of different organizations in order to improve quality of survey, and to promote knowledge exchange in the fields of cybersecurity. ITU Global Cybersecurity Agenda (GCA) provides general foundation and framework for initiative.
